Where do I begin? Being a mom is the toughest job I’m sure we can all agree? But does being a mom define you? Who you are? And what your story is? I’ve only been a mom for a short time, and I can tell you this job is not all it’s cracked up to be. I mean staying home and not working a boring desk job, yes that’s a plus. Not having to wear high heels and getting dressed up, that’s always nice. Not having a boss down your throat every hour of the day, that’s a big bonus! But when do we actually get to go somewhere and vent our little hearts out, and shout to the mountain tops how crappy our days can be. Sometimes we just need a space to learn from other women who have been in the same trenches. I decided that I wanted to create a space where the mother effin truth would surface beneath all of us. This journey came to me when I was finally alone in my shower, having thoughts other than what I was going to make for dinner. I decided that mommy-hood was half ok for me. I liked half of it, but I missed my other half and that was ME!
It dawned on me that after all of the years of my Oprah Winfrey obsessions, I could finally put my skills to use. I wanted all the mommies out there to tell their story, and to tell the effin truth of being a mom. Every story would be different, and the stories wouldn’t be candy coated. I wanted to ask the questions we all thought but might be too afraid to ask, I wanted a shared space of honesty, and I wanted the judging to be left in the dark. Mommies would be inspired and pass the inspiration off to the next mommy to tell the mother effin truth.
